Updates:
I finished the bracket for my speedometer and made brackets for the oil cooler and magnetic speedo sensor. I fabricated a little undertail thing and painted it. Did some more filling/sanding on the tail. I riveted the other side cover together today but it was a bit too cold to start fiber glassing it. Put on a new chain and the exhaust I got a while back.
Spent a lot of time tinkering with the carbs, fuel lines, and wiring. I'm pretty sure I've successfully ruined the battery I bought less than a year ago
My old caliper is all seized together and I can't seem to get the pistons out so I have been trying to modify this rear caliper for a different year CBR that I got for cheap on ebay. Not sure it is going to work.
When I hooked up the fuel lines I tried to put my iv bottle of gas on the fuel filter/fuel pump and get it started but it didn't work. When I took the fuel line off the fuel pump it didn't seem to have much gas in it. I then hooked up the iv bottle of gas straight to the carbs and tried starting it. The fuel pump was spitting out the gas that was remaining in it so I assume it is working OK? Is there a trick to getting the fuel primed into the lines and carbs when hooking these back up?
At some point when I was messing with the fuel delivery I managed to screw up the electrical because I'm not getting spark anymore. I did have the bike idling for a bit and the exhaust sounded really good.

I got my camera back and took some pics

I really like the way the speedo mount came out. Makes me wish I bought that one rather than the round one from danmoto. The exhaust is beautiful too and has a nice shape mounted like that. Perhaps try soaking that old caliper in oil and see if that loosens it. Where did you get the fuel IV bag? I'm in desperate need of one.
Welcome to the forum Deus! That design looks pretty sweet. Let me know when you start a build thread so I can follow it. If you have any questions along the way I'll do my best to help out.
Nikola: Dad made the bottle a while back. It is basically just a small plastic bottle that he threaded an air hose piece into and then hooked up a rubber hose to.
Questions:
If anyone can shed some light on the fuel delivery or point me to some good information on it that would be awesome. Here is the problem I was having
"When I hooked up the fuel lines I tried to put my iv bottle of gas on the fuel filter/fuel pump and get it started but it didn't work. Problem two is on the spark end of things. When I tried starting it on Monday it wouldn't fire off even with starting fluid so I pulled a plug and they were still clean. They are new iridium ones that I bought over the winter. I tried starting it with the plug out near the engine to see if it was sparking and there was nothing. Where do I go from here to troubleshoot this?
I wired up the gauge today after staring at the original wiring diagram for an hour or so last night. It was actually pretty easy since the two plugs that lead to the original gauge had almost every wire I needed and were in a similar color scheme. Neutral, high beam, and turn signal indicator lights all seem to be working properly. I need a fuel level sensor since the original instruments didn't read that but that is pretty low on my priorities at the moment.

My concerns are where to get lowered handlebars, will the handlebars then hit the tank, and making a custom seat with the traditional cafe racer hump in the back. The tank seems fairly level so i dont think Ill need to raise the rear of it. I think I will need to raise the seat a bit to be more level with the tank, again, in the tradition of the cafe style. It seems most people who make naked bikes out of CBRs, make them into streetfighters rather than cafe racers. I really want the cafe racer style as depicted in the MS Painted rendition above. Those are my thoughts thus far.
