jpan- Off camber = banking away from the direction of the turn

Lol - I've seen these guys videos before - I actually think it is kinda cool they shoot the pics and post em. Hell if I had crashed there, I'd like to be able to go back and dissect what I did wrong in slo-mo HD. Not a bad learning tool really.

Here's an oldie but goodie - JP - notice in the last half of the video they change to a different camera angle we didn't see in any of jpan's links - it looks like a dead flat, decreasing radius turn that really gets tight. Possibly with some uneven wear ruts in the lane as well. Might even be slightly off camber in the middle.

I really applaud this rider's choice of gear - especially the tactical-grade footwear that you can see doing it's job @ ~46 secs in....enjoy:

YouTube - Scooter Crashes Into Guardrail on Mulholland

Best advice this guy heard all day..."stay down bro....stay down." Too bad someone didn't tell him that when he woke up that morning.

honestly - you have to commend the guy's commitment level - he leaned the thing til it was dragging on the chassis - that's when he lost it. Too bad the elite only had like 3 degrees of lean angle until that happened.

i never saw him grab any brake... but i may be blind. looks to me that the front washed out on him,,, unlucky and not much warning with that...

i think getting their body out would have saved a couple of them, you dont need the most extreme bike lean angle to take a corner fast.

After watching that again I think you're right. Here's what I think happened.

If you look real close you can see the back slide out a little bit. He feels this and reacts by closing the throttle (this is when I thought he had grabbed the brake). Closing the throttle to get traction back in the rear loaded the front suspension just enough to make the front tire come lose. Then the rear again and down he goes...

That's what I think anyway...

Edit: keep clicking at 5 seconds and you can see it all happen pretty clearly
