Well i went down yesterday i went for a lil ride up in angeles forest i have been up there at least 100 times. I was kind of fooling around with some dude that was riding also i was going around a turn going anywhere from 75 to about 85 i dont know i took my eyes away for a split second to see if he was still there and i look up and the turn gets super sharp and there is a stop sign. So i do my best to slow down and stop i was doing ok but than i hit a patch of dirt of something and the bike jerks hard to the right and dose a b line toward the gaurd rail, i do my best to get it straight and i half do but i end up smacking it with the side of the bike i was doing about 50 to 60 at that point. I get ejected off the bike fly through a bush do a flip and hit the dirt and slide about 20 more feet. Lucky for me there was a rn riding the other way who saw it happen with in 10 seconds or it seemed i have a rn and like 10 other riders around me so they check me out and thought i broke my femer, That was the sherrif search and rescue that made that call. So they call the bird out and med a vac me out to hunnington memorial. I get admitted as a trauma patient and get a million and one tests ends up i have a broken left thumb i might need surgery on a hematoma on my right leg that was not broken thank god 3 stiches to sew up a hole in my stomache i think i got stabbed by the bush i flew through bruised ribs and a lil road rash on my right wrist and hand. Thank got i was wearing my full gear other wise i think it would be alot worse. To top it all off i was filming my ride to send to my girlfriend who is in the navy cause she said she missed riding with me and wanted a video so she could watch so i got my crash on tape too. I will get the camera i hope when i get the bike out of the tow yard today.
Here is the real irony the chp who came to the scene was being a dick saying this is what you get for being an idiot and so on when he did a sherrif search and rescue told him to F@@@ off cause he has been down 2 times up there. Well in the middle of my x ray fest they get a trauma call it was the same chp that gave me hell. He was chasing a couple of bikes and took a turn wide and went head up with a jeep. I felt bad for him but after that comment he made i was a lil ticked off. They end up putting me in the same room and a sheriff search and rescue that gave me and him a ride told me that he was the guy who made that smart *** comment to me. So i asked the chp what happened he told me and i could not help my self and i asked him who looks like the idiot now the 3 timer chasing bikes he cant catch or the first timer who made a bad choice. He did not like that but all his chippy buddys got a good laughf out of it. If he were going to die i would not have said anything but he was just as bad off as me so i could not resist giving some of what i got .

 

Wow...sounds like you were really lucky...glad to hear your injuries weren't worst, you just never know, especially once you come off the bike. Hey we all make mistakes, so we live and learn, if we are lucky. Hope you get back in the saddle soon.

Dude you can sell that video to break.com or something so you can get like $10 for wrecking your bike and getting messed up. Sucks real hard.

were you wearing any gear? if not...you may want to go full leathers everytime you ride up there or any twisties for that matter.

I believe that is what is called poetic justice. Sorry to hear about both of you though. Hope you both heal quickly. By the way, was the CHP riding? Or was he in a car? Oh yeah, must have been in a car, you stated he hit a jeep head on. If he'd done that on a bike there's not much chance he'd have been talking to anyone.

 

ride gear really does do its job! glad ur okay bro.. when i finally get my bike, im going to wear the leather.. before i contemplated with the heat and all but now with all these stories.. definitely going with the armoured leather.. anyone got any armoured jeans size 36 to sell?
