I understand how to do it the problem is there is only about a half inch of play. Its not even play though. Its needed so your able to shift. The bolt on the bottom would have to be loosened. I need the shifter like this.
take just the top bolt out and slide the piece off the saft on the engine then put where you want it, just make sure it dont hit or rub anything when you shift
1.) red- this is all one rod, tighten either end until it won't tighten anymore.
2.) yellow- take these bolts out, then take the whole thing and rotate it counter clockwise until its high enough, you gain as much height as the link- (green) is long.
If the rod isn't connected to the lever would it spin freely? Thats what was confusing me. Now, if it does spin freely when I adjust the position does the rod still need to be straight up and down like it is?
