Default Icon field armor boots. Don't buy them.

So I got my icon field armor boots and they fit fine. They definitely offer plenty of protection and have a good fit even when not broken in. Thats about the only good things I have to say about them. They talk about how they have a rubber shifter interface. Thats fine and dandy if I could even get the boot under the shifter! They are so big and bulky I can barely get the very front under the shifter. Thats bad for me. I drag race and on the 10 minute ride I took proved that they are worthless. It took way too long to get the boot under the shifter. My steel toed work boots work better than these things. Not only can you barely get the boot under the shifter but you have to point the front of your foot inward to get under it. This made my leg hurt after about the first shift. I don't know how anyone could like these boots for riding. I don't think there is any getting used to these things. Its not worth the pain in my leg.
Waste of $130.... If anyone knows of a good pair to use let me know.

move your shifter position up a few clicks. i have big feet and i moved the one on my four wheeler the day i got it. you can do it on a bike too, its the same kind of linkage.

not exactly sure what your bike has but there should be some splined saft with the linkage attached, loosen pinch bolt, slide the peice off the splined shaft and move in the direction you need, and reinstall. you might have a threaded rod as well, loosen both jamb nuts and turn rod one way or the other to adjust, then lock the nuts back down

Seems like you described it perfectly. The pinch bolt is the one on the bottom rite?

the one on the top where the linkage goes to the engine, should be a 10mm bolt head, loosen it and take it all the way out then slide the paice off the shaft on the engine, you might get unugh adjustment out of just the threaded rod, you would need to loosen the nuts on top and bottom of the rod and spin the center part

What your saying is that I might be able to leave the splined piece alone. Just loosen the pinch bolt and adjust the linkage? Wouldn't that screw up the way the linkage moves on the lever and the splined piece.

i just wrote a lond story in the quick reply and it f-ed up and didnt post it, argggg.... ok well loosen the 2 nuts on the part of the linkage that is vertical, i think they are 10 or 11mm, loosen the nuts while holding the aluminum peice whth a wrench, back both nust all the way off, then turn the aluminum part which ever way to raise the foot part of the shifter upwards
