I'm thinking about picking up a set of helmet speakers off ebay. I am not expecting much fidelity but how much can you expect over wind noise anyway. I just want something so I can plug in my phone and listen to internet radio while I'm riding.

Anyone have experience with anything like these:

There seems to be three or four sellers with this type of generic helmet speakers for under $10. Its little enough money to be worth a shot even if they don't work but I'll save my spare change for lunch some time if someone here can tell me they are complete crap.

Opinions? Go generic? Get a name brand and spend the money?

 

id say just go generic my room mate awhile back bought a pair of regular seperate ear headphones and took off the ear loops and velcro'd them into his helmet, he still has em to this day works fine just unvelcro's them when hes not gunna listen to music

 

I use them with my GPS, with it turned up to max I can hear OK up to about 70mph (I use earplugs).

How noisy your lid is will obviously make a difference too.
