I appreciate all the feedback, I do have a new Shoei Helmet, but did pick up the x-11 as well. I will send it out and they will email/call with the findings. I know this might take a while but as I already have one it's not a big deal. I also did read that article, several times, and will say that the amount of transference from the DOT vs. the Snell is pretty negligible, and I think both will work just fine in any case, but I am choosing comfort, air flow, styling, and a great reputation to keep me in the Shoei's. If anything it proved (imho) it's that all of them make very nice lids that will protect your noggin just fine. If people were dropping like flies from snell helmets the standard would have been changed a long time ago, and as noted has vastly changed in the few decades that full face helmets have been out. The amount of force allowed to the head back then was substantially higher than it is today. For my part I will keep my head in the game, improve my skills every chance I get, ride with gear always, an unclouded head all the time, and still keep the big man upstairs in my corner.
