Looks perfect Matti

Can't stand those great big exhausts that look like rocket launchers and if they get cut down too short they look stupid. This one suits the bike well and is in proportion.

Thanks Hawk, really think it hits the sweet spot too. Modern and not too big.

The "new" front blinkers came a few days ago. Same as old ones but with working threads. Still a bit against fitting them there in the first place but can't really figure out a better option either. One option would be to fit them into the handlebars but I'd have to make some sort of adapters from scratch.

I had a sheet of 5mm aluminum laying around so I figured I'd make a base for the keyless ignition box, it's relays and the electric solenoid latch that I will be making for the seat later.

I started playing around withe seat locking mechanism system but couldn't get the creativity flowing enough so decided to come back to that on a later time.

Fixed the temp sensor plug. A small thing but one that's been bothering me so got that sorted.

Did a little rummaging in the parts box for something to do and decided to start tackling the final drive since the new chain rub strip should arrive next week and got a lot of cleaning to do at the rear swingarm.

There was no masterlink in the chain so I ground down the rivetings on one random link. Possibly original chain? With 25tkm I guess it's possible. Absolutely no idea why I have a mahoosive 36mm socket but a good thing I did so I could get the front sprocket nut open.

*sigh* daym ******** at the parts shop fudged yet again. I'm guessing that is a SSSA sprocket... gotta go ask if they'd still be willing to fix the mistake since I bought the parts in last november. It IS still unused so wouldn't hurt to go and ask. The cush drive rubbers are a bit worn as well since the jub dropped to the floor as soon as the wheel came out of the swingarm so probly wouldn't hurt to swap those too.

Yeah, looks like an SSSA sprocket to me, too. Theyre big like that because of the huge hub. Unlike you, that would indicate that I need to put an SSSA on the bike as opposed to trying to exchange it, but thats my twisted logic - haha

Ha, not me. Having a rare version of a rare bike to begin with is a reason enough for me to keep the swing, not to mention the unneeded work, expense and the fact that I actually prefer the DSSA. And if the shop refuses to refund the sprocket I have a friend that recently bought a 955i Daytona as well with an SSSA so it does not go unused.

Now now, you`re making me blush here All I`m doing after all is bolting stuff together that other people has made. Well, except for the parts that I made myself

Gave the sprocket flange a proper bath. A hot tip for you Missy in case U didn`t know, I use that stuff for anything and everything. Cheap as soap, haven`t hurt any surface ever and I`ve used it on leather car seats, just washed the white kitchen dining table seats yesterday, available practically everywhere and very effective on stubborn grease...

...as can be very clearly seen here. Hm, seems the rear sprocket is as good as new so not gonna bother even asking Storm for a swap. Ey missy, want a sprocket? Got a pile of other stuff as well like tail light, the little fairing that goes around it, pasenger rearsets, a few Triumph stickers etc etc in case you happen to tip it some day or something.

Chain rub strip completely gone, a new one should arrive in a few days from World Of Triumph.

Rear swing before...

...and after two treatments of Tolu spray foam and a light scrub in between.

Interesting sprocket, don`t remember seeing one like that before. What`s with the plastic thing and is it necessary as the new sproclet doesn`t have it. Seems un-removable and the new sprocket doesn`t have holes for it either. Also different size, this is 19 tooth and the new one is 18 so fitting that should make the bike even more nose happy than it is now? Jeez...

Bang your head to the pine for long enough and one or the other is gonna give in Which one, depends on in what point do you have the sense to say stop and get someone to show you how so you know the next time. Trust me I`ve ruined quite a few vehicles in the process so if I can transef what little I know to prevent someone else from the same faith then it hasn`t gone in vain.

Finished fixing my wife`s car a bit early so had a little go left in me for the day so decided since I`m already in work clothes why not stay in the shed to tinker for a while.

Just a wee bit unnerving drilling through a 200e paint job...

...and of course it wandered to the side a little but luckily that doesn`t matter much since it`s just a pass-through hole for...

...The Loobman chain oiler. I try to keep my bikes in good condition but one thing I NEVER remember to do is lube the dayng chain! So hopefully this thing will take care of that issue. It`s cheap and it shows, all fittings should be done with zipties and iron wire. Might figure something a bit more sophisticated later, probly at least gonna have to drill some holes into the battery box since now the ties just go through the round frame pipe so no matter how tight they are I can move the can just by casually pulling it with a few fingers. I fear the plastic can will crack if I try to fix it with hose clamps or sth so probly just better to prevent it from moving.

A modified rubber chassis plug for a tight fit...

had an auditor in the garage to inspect the work quality. Didn`t get peed on so I suppose it`s a pass then...

I have no idea what that gummy sludge is in the front sprocket cavity but it didn`t yield to any known solvent so I had to mechanically remove it. Almost resembled chewing gum. Actually found that rubber part from there as well, based on the indentation it`s a part of the rear tank mount

Could be better but the next bottle of something hard enough said "Islay single malt" so decided it`s clean enough.

This arrived today too, the old one basically just dropped out but getting the new one in without removing the swing required a bloody knuckle, moderate violence and enough fould language to make a sailor blush but it did eventually. Wouldn`t necessarily recommend as half of the time I was unsure can it take the punishment.

Cutting the new chain. Some stretch visible in the old one.

Making the leg for the Loobman oil "brush". Not exactly sold on all those zipties, will see how they hold or will they... There should be two zipties coming out of the brush thing with their tips touching the sprocket but IIRC I used them for something some time ago so gotta go buy some of those tiny ones to finish the brush.

The new chain goes surprisingly well with the coolant hoses. Was a bit scared if it will look corny now that I`m not painting the frame but IMO it looks pretty good.
