The story of one neglected Triumph...
Eyy Conrice haven`t seen you in a good while, what`s up? Still building that blade of yours or been too busy riding?
Yea the shroud came out somewhat decent, the pokey out lights had started to bother me a bit so decided to do something about it.
Let`s see... motohörhö`s bike soooo i must be this then?

I`m a bit unfamiliar with all of his work but what I`ve seen has been completely sick! I`d be scared to hell riding that thing with that belt whizzing by completely unprotected, IF you`d actually manage to keep it in one lane and that belt would go snap you`d be a head shorter...
So I gave the bike a proper wash today as well as two coats of polish. Still gotta continue with the seat tomorrow. Man I`ll tell you, if you ever think about wrapping your seat with orange vinyl, don`t. That thing just sucks up ALL the dirt and hangs onto it like a junkyard dog onto the last bone! I`ve tried all purpose cleaners, I`ve tried solvent cleaners, man I`ve even tried thinner as well as my neigbor`s steam cleaner and the crap just sits there like nothing ever happened! I finally figured out a way to clean it today. A rubber sanding disc on a drill covered in towel, and some Fast Orange hand cleaner, the one with the exfoliating pcleaning particles in it, and just rub the stuff in with the drill, it will become clean -eventually but even with that I had to put my back into it a fair amount, still have to detail the edges as well as one stubborn spot tomorrow, it`s nearing midnight so gotta hit the sack in a sec!

Ugh, I wish I had been riding, or making a decent attempt at getting my bike done, but I'm so bogged down in work, I can't find 5 minutes to get into the garage to plan let alone do anything.
Glad to see your bike is getting some recognition and is in shows. Your work deserves it!

Bummed to hear that, but on the other hand glad you have a job to be busy with. The time will come to get back to it!
Me, I've mainly had motivation issues to finish the little things as there's been a loooot of stress in the air lately, which will hopefully start to unravel in the somewhat near future.... and I'd really want a new project to work on
Although now is really not a good time to get involved on a new one as money is tight and the new baby is due somewhere around christmas... but I can reveal I've been eyeballing some XB12:s, not that common here -> not overly popular -> asking prices are at a reasonable level. I'd reckon I could pick up a stock or lightly modded 2005 for the price I could realisticly get for the 'Tona once it's time to sell.
What comes to the show, well it's not a competition or anything, mainly just to show the paintwork however if they'd just want to display color patterns they could have covered a bunch of 1 buck buckets and display those. Or called up someone else's bike so I guess I am flattered for the attention.

I finally got the seat cleaned. Man I'll tell you I've NEVER seen such stubborn crap before in ANY surface, I basically had to rub it off with the rubber disc&towel combo in the drill with the hand washing agent, it's still not perfect but falls into the good enough slot.

Three coats of polish and a whole heck of a lot of elbow grease later, think that'll do. Gonna go home with the truck today and load it up, drop it off in our cargo terminal for the day and after work take it to the show. Still haven't received an answer to my email about when and where in the exhibition center should I drop it off but I guess they're just busy sanding or painting something since it's not that long ago when I sent it.

Buells are great bikes. Unlike Harleys, I've never rode another motorcycle that handled better that the Firebolt I had.
The motor is fun although it doesn't rev enough (you'll find yourself bouncing off the limiter if you're used to I4s), but still, its a fun, powerful, muscle car esque motor on one of the best handling chasiss I've ever rode.
And they look cool as hell too. So I hope you get one!
And I hope the show goes well for you, I'm sure its nice to hear some of the comments people make about your bike. Glad that seat came clean

Ha, I had the exact same problem with this one when I moved out from the cbr as this redlines at 10,5k and most of the torque is down low anyway so it`s just a matter of getting used to. (this one`s a triple remember?) At the spot where the F2 STARTED waking up, I gotta shift to a bigger gear as I`m already at the top of the power band and nearing the limiter quick! Specially on the track I still hit redline from time to time.
Somehow I just can`t get rid of the idea of having a V-twin. It`s the sound I guess... but I don`t want a custom! Probly one day going to own a some sort of a cruiser but NOT choppers or the likes!
Gonna post some pictures from the show, unfortunately I can only go there at sunday myself as I have already made other obligations for saturday.

More pics and a lenghty entry coming to the blog possibly later next week, too tired to write right now.
It looks fantastic Matti!
You should be so very proud of the 'finished' bike...............
I should be inspired and get on with my little farm bike but as you know life gets in the way. With me it's a 5'9" NZ woman with a Renault CV4 750 cc called Buttercup and a 50th birthday party next week
Still, I'm not complaining!
Cheers, SB
