I'm sooooooo tired of HEMI any more. It's so overplayed and certainly isn't anything close to what it once was.
I'm sure it's a good engine and all, but it's just as comparable as the other of the big 3's similar sized V8's in car or truck.

Like in the movie Joe Dirt when he pulls up to pick up that hoosier chick in his rusted out '70 Daytona and she says: "I thought you said you had a hemi?" Hahahaha

 

Mopar performance was the cats *** back in the day, but I lost all respect when they went to a four door charger hemi. Imagine how much respect youd have for chevy if they came back with a four door camaro?????? Thats just wrong....

 

i beat a z06 vette on the bottle .. i hate when people honestly think they have a chance against a modern sport bike just because they got a "fiddy" (5.0 mustang) or a camaro, civic , wrx whatever .. unless your another bike you dont have a chance 9/10 times

 

This one time on a empty road a Nice Evo 8 pulles up next to me and my brother in law around 50mph they both gun it and the lancer held its own with him, possibly he because he hadnt rode much, i was to much of a squirly newbie back then.

 

I had some jackass boy-racer in a Mazda POS try to race me today (or should I say the classic "Ricer Fly-by".) I was riding a little spirited to work and when I finally slowed down, he flew by me and threw on his hazard lights. I love it when they do that. Anyway, it was a red light ahead, so I pulled up right next to him and looked him square in the face, opened my visor and yelled out "You're kidding right? Hazard lights? Are you that gay?".............He got all embarrassed and rolled his window up, I sat there and laughed. OWNED!

And for everyone else saying "These new HEMI's aren't like they use to be....." Here's a rebuttal......

Back when the HEMI first debuted, it didn't have to worry about a little thing called emissions, fuel economy, reliability, etc. When people say these engines are "watered down", what are they referring to? A 6.1 liter HEMI producing 450hp is watered down? Correctly tuned by Mopar and a couple of bolt-on's and you have well over 600hp......and those are cheap bolt-on's at that. Not to mention the HEMI is what lies underneath the hood of the worlds fastest SUV (Jeep Cherokee SRT-8). That "watered down" HEMI scoots an SUV to 60mph in 4.8 seconds.......with an automatic. In 2011-2012, the Viper will move to a modified HEMI engine producing well over 650-750 bhp, and STILL be naturally-aspirated.

And on Discovery channel, they had a program that was dyno testing new "hot" engines from Chrysler, GM, Ford and a few others. All the other V-8's were supercharged and only managed a max of 600 hp at the crank. The Dodge engine (with NO supercharger) managed 827 crank horsepower. (and yes, it was this new watered-down HEMI to be used in the soon-to-be 3rd generation Viper)

Stick that in your pipes and smoke it.

Sorry Fox, nobody likes it when people run around town with a 3 dollar decal they paid 3500 for that says HEMI on the side of their Dodge RustoWagon... no matter how cool that name was in the 60s.

Also, I saw that show on the disovery channel too and those were all concept engines... not one of them will make it to the street no matter how the show twised it. As for Dodge and their little 600 HP viper for 08 it'll be lucky if it makes 10 MPG highway. The Blue Devil will be puttin down 700 HP and will still get 28 MPG highway. Tell me what's the better engine? I'll admit it, it's gonna be supercharged but it's already more than a full liter smaller than the current Viper engine and makes the same HP and STOMPS it around any track. So what if its NA? The C6 Z06 has already set the standard for the greatest engine since 2000.


And further more I spanked a Gallardo (500 HP and 3100 lbs) on my 954there's not chance a Charger with 425 HP and let's be honest here 4100 lbs has a snowballs chance in hell of catching up ... even on top end which is around 165... same as my bike but I'll get there around half a minute faster.
