Vigilantism is by definition a crime.

Have I gotten run almost off the road? Yes
Has it Pissed me off ? YES!!

Laying on the horn, a stern look through a tinted visor, and (maybe) 1.5 seconds of 15,000 RPMs bouncing off the rev limiter would be the most aggression I'd reccomend against another motorist.

The time you spend plotting and attacking that motorist, will be the same time you'll miss the next cellphone texting SUV driver that WILL "paste " you all over the countryside.

 

I leave the situation, and thank the powers in charge that I made it safe. The OP is going to run into someone that's going to hand him his *** and it's gonna sting.

My only hope is that someone gets it on video so I can enjoy the no0bto0b showing.

 

I gave up trying to "teach" cagers anything while on the road. Even the "finger" is useless since it takes a hand off the bars. My personal preference is to just get outta there way ... although I prefer them behind me instead of in front. Have had idiots get in front then slow way down ... asNietzsche said "That which is behind you is not important."

 

I think some people are just out for sportbikers and all of us are stereotype by videos and first hand occurences. All non motorcyclist think we do 150mph all over the place and pop wheelies left and right. So there will always be dum motorist and lives will be lost. 51 plymouth u can argue all my post thats cool um glad u enjoy itbutu dont mean anything to me. I ride like i do and just trying to hear peoples occurences with dum motorist.

 

We are stereotyped because of riders that think they're badasses that want to teach dumB drivers a lesson with weapons etc.

Gotta admit some people make it easy to fantasize about the look on that sorry S.O.B.'s face as his mirror bounces down the Hwy. Then you pull up beside her and she's frickin' 90 and as scared of you as you were by her.

As VERY nice as it would be to break something on their vehicle, you're precisely right. I"ve learned to simply use my positioning and horn to my advantage.

if you're as visible as possible, and the dumbass still doesnt see you, THEN you have a good excuse to go yell at them. not beat them up, break something on their car or whatever, but have a good long talk about why they need to watch for others.

 

sometimes the middle finger isnt enough. For instance i was riding with a friend down a windy road that goes along the river.This van in front of us is doing 50mph in ***. Sowe ride a couple car lengthsbehind to pass. The van pulls into the turning lanewith no turn signal, as i begin to drive by the van pulls back over and almost hits me i had to crack the throttle tonot get side swiipe. So um all pissed off. Soacouple miles down my buddy and i pull over at a local ice cream/biker hangout. Sure enough thisvan pulls in. Um still pissed off. So right asthey get out of the van. Um in thereface. Husband and wife about 50years old. Igot in there face and asked why the hell they almost swerved over and hit us? U were speedingthey said. WTFdoes that have to do with anything. Ur not even observant atunder the speed limit and u almost sideswiped me and didnt use ur turn signal u dumb****. So they start to ignore me. They even go up to order icecream and turn there backs to me. I got right up in there faces and cussed and bitch them the **** out right in front of probably 15people there waiting for icecream. They alll looked at me like i was going to pull a gun.

Now somebody tell me you would just give them the finger and laugh it off. They just put my life endanger by a couple feet and could of ruined my buddys day to if i would of got hit. I know they seen us because we road behind them for a mile.

So what would you guys have done in my shoes?

 

Let it go man, let it go. You have no idea how many times I've almost been killed over the yearsby people who don't look...I count at least 5 in the last week alone. Youbitching out senior citizens at a public place just makes you look like an *******, reflecting poorly on the rest of us. You need to learn that people not are going tosee you, and do stupid ****. Be ready for it,get yourself out of the situation, and LET IT GO! One day you're going to get in someone's face and get your *** handed right back to you, or worse. Jesus, listen to what we are all telling you, andLET IT GO! No one appointed you "Motorcycling Safety Advisor to the Public", so please just learn to LET IT GO. Please, for your own sake, learn to leave it alone and stop escalating minor **** to the status of world-ending emergencies. Stop trying to get even, or tell people to look for us...no matter how much you try, they are going to get right back in their car and go back to being blissfully unaware, or worse, you'll **** them off and they'll decide to start ****ing with us. Either way, there is no improvement.
Back to your story...you were pissed that the minivan tried to use vigilantism to keep you from speeding, yet you want to use it to teach them to look/be aware. How are you any better than them?
