The day after you added Comp[rehensive to your insurance policy. Actually considering the circumstance it would likely even be covered by Collision. If your just running liability though then the answer would be.
The day after you sold it.

Keep an eye on cars that park around that area and see if you can find some black paint, then ask the driver about it. You'd be surprised how many peoiple cough up a confession and an apology/resititution if they "think" they might be busted, even if they aren't.
i prob wont find the car. the funny thing is that i saw the person who hit me

there was a party going on at my apt complex. and i was across the parking lot from where my bike was. and i saw a black/dark green truck drive down by my bike, and reverse really quick.

i thought to myself, damn thats close to my bike, so i stopped my conversation to listen for my bike to fall, but i didnt hear anything, so i dismissed the whole thing

next morning i go to my bike and find that it actually did get hit, but it just didnt fall over.

so long story short. the person who hit me was only around looking for the party, and prob wont be back ever again

Sorry man, that bites. You should be good with an f4 or f4i fairing.

By chance does your complex have any security cameras? If so, try to have the complex look on the tapes for a truck matching the description. Might get a tag # and can have the cops track from there for fleeing the scene of an accident
