When you think about rusted out cars you must be thinking about Toyotas and Hondas.
Any way to answer your question it really depends on what you want.
The TL is a nice car and I would recommend it.
Older GM products really lacked against import competition, but they have come a long way .
You might also want to take a look at the Saturn aura. The Aura was named the 2007 North American Car of the Year at the North American International Auto Show

I'm really leaning towards an 04 - 05 TL right now I showed a pic of it to this girl at work and she got all hot and touchy feely on me saying how sexy it was and that I would have to come pick up and take her out if I got it... [sm=bounceybounce.gif][sm=bounceybounce.gif]
if I get a CL (which would be cool too) I'd have to get Navi or else it really would be a stupid purchase
I love all the new Dodge stuff. Maybe I should become a police officer because I really think they are tough looking (Magnum, Charger). I've heard bad things about Saturn, and I think VW is not that hot. Just some more non-commital response out of me.
I am a truck man personally. I got a 2000 Dodge Durango fully loaded w/ 4 wheel drive for $8K w/ warranty. I pay $242/month if you include insurance it is around $320/month. Mine looks similar to this one. 5.9 (360)V8, tow package, heated side view mirrors, inifinity sound. Real nice ride.
