I'm still a Dodge fan at heart, but I can't get past the "WTF" designs they've been coming out with lately. (With the exception of the Nitro, Magnum SRT-8, Neon SRT-4 and of course, the Viper.). They're trying to hard to be bold, which came to them naturally when the 1994 Ram came out. Since then, they've been overplaying it. (and I can't stand this "no manual transmission offered" trend either, WTF?
In actuallity, all three US automakers are in big trouble. Unless they get there stuff together, start making high quality vehicles that doesn't look like they mated with Michael Moore, it's a matter of time before Chapter 11 is brought up.
I was reading an article that shows Ford going first, GM then DamilerChrysler, with Nissan, Toyota and Honda taking the "Big 3" lead in the US. That would suck, but then again, American cars aren't this first thing people think of when they hear the word "Quality". So maybe one of them does have to go to get the other's straightened up.
GO EVO!!!!!!!!! Its 4-door, its turbo, and its BAD ****!!!!!!!!
But if you want to go logically, I would pick a Dodge over anything if you are going Domestic. They have fixed up their tranny issues and are VERY strong vehicles. You can get a new Nitro for $22000 (which isnt the base model) and they get about 24 mpg. Or, like I said, EVO!!!

The TL is a great car, looked at one before buying my maxima, went with the max since I wanted a stick, (TL not available until 04 i think). I also looked at the IS300, great car. It was a toose up between the IS300 and the maxima for me. I kinda wish i would have went with the IS300 since it's RWD. Ended up going with the maxima since it has more power, a 6-speed,and the one I bought has the LSD (hard to find). The newer TL's are fast but my maxima but a car length or two between me and the my freinds 04 TL. I've be happy with the VQ35 engine, puts out 255bhp stock and with an exhaust and a header near 300 bhp. I like the sound of the VQ35, sounds like a 350Z since its pretty much the same engine. Kinda depends on what you want/like in a car.
if youve ever driven one you would think differently some people think that because its forigen its better quality but that is not true i see chevys in here all the time with over 200k miles on them ive seen silverados with over 600k miles on them and my own car has over 220k miles chevrolet technology is so far ahead of most forigen manufactures its not even funny i think honda should stick to bikes because that is what they build the best
i dont think the rx8 is worth the money i use to spank those left and right in my 4000 dollar gti.. the rx8 is ugly, slow , non turbo, and deff not roomy
for the buck i think the acura's are great luxury and reliable vehicles

Okay guys, my lease runs out at the end of March so I have to start shopping for something new. I've had my eye on an 04 3.2TL Type S... got one for sale around the corner from me for 15k ...
Any suggestions as to what car I should buy? I wanna keep it under $450 a month and 60 months financing would be the max

I'm looking into buying the TL as well but considering many others.
If you don't require a back seat and a convertible is an option I would "kind of" recommend my current car which is a 97 z3 which is in your price range.

the car is fantastic but the interior fit/finish sucks if you can live with that. If they still put it together in Germany that wouldn't be an issue though.
You can't go wrong with the TL though. If you can swing a slightly higher price, the 2003 Infiniti G35 is also one to consider IMO ... consistently on Car & Drivers 10 best list

You may also want to research reviews for years back but here's this years 10 best list according to C&D
2007 BMW 3-series (2006)
2007 Chevrolet Corvette (2006)
2007 Chrysler 300 (2006)
2007 Honda Accord (2006)
2007 Honda Fit
2007 Infiniti G35 sedan
2007 Mazda MX-5
2007 Mazdaspeed 3 (2006)
2007 Porsche Boxster and Cayman (2006)
2007 Volkswagen GTI
Criteria: "We judge the cars in three general areas: First, how well the car performs its intended functions. We expect sports cars to be fast and exhilarating, while we presume a family sedan will be practical. Second, we show a preference for the more engaging cars in each category; be it better driving manners, a double-take-inducing look, or a powerful engine. Finally, we are suckers for a good deal, so an inexpensive car that’s fast, fun, and practical will certainly rise to the top of our list."
Hands down get the TL. Its honda...nuff said. Ive got a 99CL and even though its a 99 I absolutly love this car. Even my next car is gonna be a new tl, if not the gen your looking at. Great choice on car.
well I just got back from about 5 test drives... first i drove an 03 TL like the one in my picture... didn't have NAV but it did have low miles they wanted 15900... I was like okay let me think about it and come back at the end of the day
then I went across the street to volkswagon and drove an 07 passat 2.0T with NAV and DSG paddle shifters... 32900 out the door or 489 a month lease with 1500 down. too much for me and I didn't really like the turbo lag... but they were good guys I liked em and I rolled up on my 54 so the dude was already kind of diggin my attitude we got along and had good conversations (not typical bull**** car salesman stuff)... anyways told em I was walking too much money and I wasn't gonna spend 28k on a jetta F that....
finally i went to lexus and didn't see one car on the lot under 40 and i talked to the guy he was like how much do you want to spend I told him 450 and he was like, if you put 35000 down we get put you in a new GS ... we both laughed and I was like thanks man make me feel poor
THEN... on the way home I was pulling into my apartment complex and saw somebody getting out of an 01 CL Type S ... 88k miles new tires new brakes, perfect inside and out and he asked 12.5k but said he'd go lower, I checked bluebook and it's around 10 for the same car with lower miles.... I'm thinking about offering him 9500 cash.....
