Wave & Nod or Nothing?
I always drop a hand to wave unless if I didnt see you in time and then I just feel bad

I'm in Washington State, and I've made it a point to wave at everyone (whenever possible). I noticed that almost all Harley riders have been waving back at me, but they do it at the last second as if they are surprised I waved in the first place.
From reading this thread it looks like the girls may have an easier time with the reciprocating wave. I wonder how long it takes people to figure out we're girls (if we have full gear on)? Basically, I wonder if they're just waving because we're chicks, or, because we're waving in the first place.

Yep, everyone waves here in Detroit.
Now that you mention it, I also feel that the Harley guys seem to wave back at the last moment as if they dont expect you to wave at them, but thats just a small number, most of them wave as soon as they see you.

Lately in Cincinnati the cruiser guys dont wave back so I quit waving at them unless they do it first. I would wave, they go on bye, so I would say, well fck you then and go on down the road.
Every Harley rider I see never waves at me, but i'd say about 90% of sportbike riders tend to wave back at me. I give a wave to everyone i see, but it doesnt seem to happen back most of the time
Think it all depends on the bike with the harley guys, like crash king said, when i'm on the 900 its real rare to get a harley guy to wave back, now on the busa i'm breaking my hand to wave back at these guys as they wave first, i dont get it.
I did have a probably 90 year old man on a scooter shoot me a hand the other day, was kinda in a weird ah what do i do what do i do situation, but he was about 90, white hair blowing in the wind probably doing about 45 when he passed so i waved back.
