To wave or not to wave?

To wave or not to wave?
So what's the deal with the wave? Is it bad etiquette not to wave to a fellow biker? I'd say I throw some fingers out about 75% of the time I see other riders. If I'm riding hard ( trying too anyway haha) or twissty road where I don't feel taking my hand off the bars then I don't. But their are some that just ride by with no wave at all. Not even a head nod lol. Is this bad biker etiquette? Just thought i'd put this out there and see what you guys have to say.

i wave or even nod to pretty much everyone. Just a nice way to be friendly.
On another note,
Seems to be a jeep thing too, but the jeep guys have more of a superiority complex with it i think. One of those "i can go more places then you can" type thing. Always fun passing a jeep in my Dune buggy going down the road and they just stare intently.

I used to be the one waving but now I only do it if someone holds their hand out first. I'll do it any time someone holds their hand out regardless of how Im riding.
The best times I realized are when you are on the highway just cruising, and see a guy on the opposite side of the highway and he waves lol cracks me up

Yea I started off initiating the waves, sometimes I get em back and sometimes Nadda. I live in kinda a yuppy area so there's always a big crew of hubby and wife riders riding 2up wearing Polos and boat shoes lol I guess its something you'd have to see in person. But I enjoy riding past them, ya got like 20 hands out waving, I feeling like getting close and slapping em. Good game good game haha
