I'd say it's about 50/50 for HD's waving/nodding back and 90% for sport bikes around my neck of the woods. We've got a healthy squid population and that's most of the sport bikes that don't wave, so I'm ok with that.

Ok, that was a pretty entertaining exchange.

Texas is pretty good about waving. about 70% across the board. Except the scooters I can only think of one scooter that has waved back at me.I'd trade 100 biker wave for the little kid waves. The occasional flash (not from the kids) is cool, too.

Yeah, about my same reaction to Orlando too. Even had a guy flash his lights and tap his helmet across 4 lanes of highway lanes to warn me of a LEO up ahead (no other traffic though, just the two of us passing).

Had a dude on a stretched/lowered busa keep me n buddies from tickets by warning us with the helmet tap on the road to Biketoberfest out by the cabbage patch this year. I still think the bike's silly, but damned if I didn't appreciate the dude.

hate to drudge up an old thread but seems silly to start a new one. just had a couple questions.

1. what's a leo?

2. what's with the hand drop wave? seems silly. why not just flip your hand up on the bars?

leo = Law Enforcement Officer

I always want the other guy to know for sure that I acknowledge him/her besides it kind of private between the riders that way and it is a coolness thing
