Does anyone know if I can use a Vista product key to activate a copy of 7? I have a few old vista keys and my friend wants 7 but I only have 1 7 key, mine.

Will it work? I'd hate to erase his comp only to have to redo everything.

no vista keys wont work with Win7. Your key should work for up to 3 machines, that is if you bought a full copy of Win7 and not a OEM.
