OK, got my ASUS laptop on Friday and a brand new copy of Windows XP Pro.

Have been trying to load XP on the thing and keep coming up with nothing.

I've been trying to find sites that walk me through, but I haven't found a good one yet, someone please help!

 

Thank god I work on computers that don't have people attached, I love 2003 and 2008 server.

Sorry I can't help but I refuse to do desktop crap.

Tried that, anytime I change my BIOS to boot from cd first, it goes to the normal XP blue screen of Windows Setup then I get an error STOP: 0x0000007B or something

 

And if that doesnt work check in the BIOS and make sure you have the CD drive listed to boot before the HDD.

 

Try formatting from your vista CD 1st then quit setup maybe?

 

Google the stop error, how far does it get before you get the stop error?
