Got schooled!! It's always nice to learn lessons the hard way. I hope it helped him. You would think he would at least reply with some BS story. so faith would not be lost to the ones you try to help.

PS Im not sour about it just leary now.

Brother I hope you're absolutely wrong on this one. I will say, I e-mailed O'Neill last night because I was thinking it had been quite some time since I had heard from him in the past it has taken him about two days to respond to me. So let's just see what happens

I think that it is great we got some new members in here now as well and welcome, thank you and I want to let you know I am thankful.
He told us we helped save the bike. He has posted on here for years and like many of us, may post for several days then takes a couple of weeks off for real life. I'm sure he'll post pics of his bike and himself as the newly paid off owner when he gets time and a camera.

Don't disagree with you at all Don. Just would really like to have a update as to his current status that is the reason I e-mailed him last night

I didn't think anyone was disagreeing with anyone here, I just want to remember how a ton of us pulled together and helped someone out that didn't ask for it. You don't see that much anymore.

Agreed Don...I'd never ask for my money back, but I would ask for an update and some pics at the very least, and I think our money has bought us that much at least.

Even if the money did go to something other than the bike- I am sure it was desperately needed. Besides, this thread brought this forum together in a way that I have never seen before. That alone was worth my $10 (and I am a BROKE college student!)

No matter what, I wish him the best and I am grateful for this thread even if we never hear from orange again.

It's the thought that counts. He didn't ask for the money, we offered it to him. Regardless of what he did with it (which I'm POSITIVE went towards the bike), it's a good deed on my part, and for the rest of the people who donated............and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

Yeah, I don't need closure or a receipt for this. Even though I don't believe in karma (which is the opposite school of thought from where I stand as a realist), sometimes it's just plain decent to respond to an apparent need--if for no other reason than to be counted as one that lent a hand--whether it be for good or evil.
