For those of you that are bored
Military and college was actually a 50/50 toss up for me but i decided to go this route obviously. Eh i did engineering for 2 years and it was all computer programming/math and no hands on/mechanical aspect which is what i wanted and liked so i said f*ck it. If i was gonna be doing stuff on computer i wanted to be doing stuff on them i enjoyed so i switched. So ive been doing a mix of network administration, database/network design, and still a little programming too but more for web development and such. So its been that and some graphic/logo design on the side for fun as well. I only regret because i like working with my hands and wish i could be doin that building who knows what for a living. Yeah must be nice...my friends uncle has his own IT company that does pretty much everything im studying and all he does is spend months in different countries (ireland, italy, japan, etc) just traveling and doing whatever so i want to be able to do something like that (dont we all). Im just trying to graduate and get a damn job that lets me be somewhat hands on and not stuck at a desk all day cuz i doubt i can do that either. Of course it needs to pay well cuz i have expensive habits and im gonna be wanting to upgrade from the f4i soon.
Haha i know what you mean about expensive habits. haha
I never really wanted to go to school so i got senioritous in 9th grade. My teachers would ask me why i dont try harder to get into schools and my answer was im joining the miltary. I just needed a 2.0 so i didnt try much harder. I regret it know and wish i had payed more attention but i averaged a 2.6-2.8 GPA.

Yeah its a bit of a problem for me, i always roll my eyes at the "do what makes you happy, its not about the money" people. Having the money to do what makes me happy, makes me happy, so i dont want to hear it, and im happy to work for my money. If i have to stare at a wall for 10 hours a day to be able to afford what i want then ill sit there with a grin on my face all damn day. I bust my *** workin at a bar in my town in the summer thats right on the beach. Ill work from 9am-2am on busy days and be tired and sore as sh*t but im still in a good mood cuz i know ill be making well north of $5-600. I could care less what the job is. But then i have 3-4 days a week off and alllll that money goes down the drain. Hey man you did what you needed to do...ill be lucky to have a 2.8 gpa after this semester because of some of my screw ups.

I agree 100% with what your saying. I dont care what job im doing as long as im making bank. Thankfully being married in the military with my spouse having a good job allows me to have plently of play money every 2 weeks.
The wife wants a yellow or white corvette z06 though
haha im not sure if id stick my wife behind the wheel of a 500hp rwd car. Id just get mine somethin with fwd or awd and tell her to go play danica patrick all she wants.
my dumbass buddy just went from a stupid scion tc that he drove like a jerkoff to an 06 mustang gt that he thinks is the baddest thing on 4 wheels so me and my other friend are taking bets on how quickly he loses it around a turn or wrecks it cuz he thinks hes jeff gordon. (is that mean?)

Now i know i said she drives bad but not danica patrick bad. lol
But yeah i think ill get her something a little less powerful. She likes the audi Q line so that is very reasonable. haha
On a side note we played nascar a few times on the xbox and she just likes to turn around and try and ram me or anyone she can to make a huge crash.
She does the same in mario cart.
Shes crazy but im stuck. haha
What ferrari are you looking at? I like the 599 GTO. It just looks amazing but then again almost all of their cars do! Well im out since its shift change. Nice talking to you and get a good 3 hours of sleep. I know i will.

haha alright alright...maybe an suv would be a good choice, those are real nice too. Ahh arent they all crazy. Mmm the 599 gto and 599xx are easily top 3....too bad the xx isnt street legal, but hey i guess thats why they made the gto. The third spot on that roster would have to go to the 458 at the moment. Me and my friend have looked into doin a twin turbo 355 in the near future actually. THeres just so many
....james glickenhaus' one off p 4/5 or an fxx would take the number one spot in the fantasy list though. You too man, ive got myself a midterm to take at 1230 so sleeps gonna have to wait till tonight. Good luck to you though
if you wanted to do something more hands on but were into mech engineering you should have just switched to mech eng. technology, thats what i graduated with.
im not sure how far you are into your college career, but def do interships and co-ops. i never did them, my dad has a lawn care business and i could work under the table for him any hours i wanted so i did that every summer, so i had no experience. and EVERY job you try to apply for is going to be 3-5 years exp. and then even the 'entry level' jobs that say no required exp, will have preferred exp, which someone who did internships will apply for. its really hard.
i just got lucky and am going to start a job finally using my degree on April 4. i graduated december of '09. i have an MET degree from Purdue and it took me a year and 3 months to start using it. i also had like a 2.8 - 2.9 gpa, which was my fault also. i had like 3.7 in highschool but wasnt really prepared for the amount of work college took so the first two years i bombed it in my non-major classes
