Snowboarding-Squaw Valley
Just wondering if anybody has ever been skiing or snowboarding here. Just want to know if it would be a trip worth taking to get back on the board. Thanks for any input.

Free Military Lift Tickets at Squaw

[/align]Squaw Valley, CA—Squaw Valley USA is proud to offer free lift tickets to active military personnel everyday during the 2006/2007 season. In its fourth consecutive season, the Military Discount Program is Squaw Valley’s way of acknowledging the hard work and sacrifice of the US military.
Squaw Valley USA Founder and Chairman Alex Cushing, who recently passed away, served in World War II as a Lieutenant Commander. His service in the US Navy transpired into a strong, lifelong connection with the military. Offering free military lift tickets is a policy that came straight from his heart. Cushing attested to his affinity for the program in his last annual letter to Squaw Valley season pass holders:
First and foremost, we will continue to strengthen our policy of free skiing and riding for our active duty military – one of the truly successful programs we have ever done. . . No one else in the ski business has even attempted to match what we do.
The program is a success indeed. Over the past three years, 32,000 active duty military participated in the program, saving them over $2 million. Above all else, the program gives our military the opportunity to experience the intrinsic joy of schussing down Squaw Valley’s legendary slopes.
In response to the program, Alex received hundreds of poignant letters from military personnel. Those letters remind us of the tribulations of the tumultuous war they’re fighting overseas. Amidst the beauty and simplicity of Tahoe, it is easy to forget; for a service member home from war, forgetting is a gift.
Squaw Valley Ski Corp President Nancy Cushing is carrying on Alex’s vision and once again, active duty military can ski and snowboard for FREE, seven days a week at Squaw Valley USA. To receive a free lift ticket, members of the US Military must bring an active duty Military ID to Special Tickets. Normal blackout dates will apply including December 26-31, 2006; January 13-14, 2007 and February 17-18, 2007. Nancy Cushing speaks on behalf of Squaw Valley Ski Corp in saying, “We are grateful to the United States Military and we salute your efforts at home and overseas.”
Military Discount Program - In honor of the men and women serving our country, Squaw Valley USA is offering FREE lift tickets to all active duty military personnel during the 07/08 winter season. Simply bring your active military duty ID to our Special Tickets office for your free lift ticket. This discount does not apply to Academy and Reservists. Normal blackout dates apply. * Blackout Dates apply and are December 22, 2007 through January 6, 2008, January 19-21, 2008 and February 16-18, 2008.[/align]
