Most of that is just a tech thing. Batteries will get lighter, cheaper, and more efficient in the next few years. Car manufacturers are already working the kinks out, and have pulled some ridiculous power out of hybrid tech (Porsche 918 Spyder Making Over 800-HP in Testing | AutoGuide.com News)
I imagine some kind of sound can be produced (in fact, it may be mandated for safety reasons) but I guess it doesn't bother me very much if not. Stealth is kinda cool, and I have my headphones in all the time anyway.

e-bikes are quite loud though. if you youtube some of the isle of man e-bike races, it's plenty loud, its just weird not hearing a motor...

So few days ago, I wanted to fill up my tank but getting late so I decided to fill tomorrow. It was $3.96/gallon. Next morning I saw price spike to $4.30....no biggy so I fil it up.....WTF two days later it's $4.69.....now it's close to $5/gallon....in some places it's even more. What's going on? What driving up price so much in one week time it went up like $1per gallon

it's because of all of those "blends".... it sucks that if you guys go down a refinery, you can't import some gas from some other state

I always say if people are unhappy with the price of fuel in the U.S. they should travel to Europe and rent a car for a couple of days. When I was in France last year it was the equivalent of around $9/gal.
I was back in Germany(Deutschland) a couple years ago and it was 5.60 euros a liter, Damn! Even on bikes it is getting expensive.Plus, I have a V8 Toyota Tundra getting 14mpg and it is getting rough and still I have winter to look forward to driving to and from work. Too cold to ride 2 wheels at 6am in the morning.

A week ago Sunday, our gas was $3.75 a gallon. The next morning it was $3.81 a gallon. That's because the Exxon station closed up here and now our only option is Conoco (which was already at $3.81 before the Exxon closed)....
