RIDICULOUS problem... @ least I think so...
First off wana say im new to the forum but I hear great things.... and this could be a bit of a long post so I apologize in advance and will try to keep as short as possible.
I picked up a CBR600F3 a month or so ago and it never ran 100% so I decided to do a carb cleanup and exchange fluids on it. Got everything back together and started it up. Sounded a little rough but I had seafoam in the gas tank and figured I should let it idle with the choke on for a long time (mistake, I know) to let it breathe. I cut the engine. When I tried to restart, the battery completely discharged and lights flickered.
I got a trickle charger, went through R/R and battery diagnosis (R/R leads all check out fine). My resting battery voltage with the bike OFF is 17V (!?!!?!). When I rev, it increases from there. The bike sounds like crap and sometimes cuts out when I give it throttle.
What did I do?!
........turns out it was a bad multimeter... It's still not running great so I'm gonna drain and refill the carb bowls and charge the batt back up to full and give it another shot later.
