Well it finally happened to me. I got the dreaded "Red Ring of Death" tonight. Logged on to the Xbox site and they are sending me a pre-paid box in the mail. I hope this works out for the better. Damn it now what am I going to do to relax?

 

Mine did that. I fided it myself, no issues in over 6 months.

 

As long as it's under warranty they'll send you a brand new one for free, unless you already own a newer model, then they'll just repair it.

 

The red ring is covered by Microsoft. Mine is way out of warranty and they are fixing it for free.

 

^ Even if it ISNT under warranty they still help. Microsoft is really taking care of the issue. So what if hardware problems occur, they're doing a great job of making sure everyone is taken care of well.

Well it took over a month to get my buddies back so when mine happened I tried myself, and knock on wood it works. I did the spacer/washer and new compound way.

 

no they send you a refurbished one.

 

You guys wouldn't believe how many Xbox's we get at UPS a day, going in for repairs. You would think Microsoft would have done something by now.

 

They are. By fixing them them a lawsuit wasn't able to be held against them and they didnt have to file a recall. They've lost over $200 million or something in that amount on repairs.
