No radar detector will make you immune to tickets, ever,
however, even a(relatively) cheap one, with the proper understanding of how radar works will give you a certain measure of Situational awareness, so that you can protect yourself against getting ticketed (READ, SLOW THE HECK DOWN) The higher end stuff gives you less false alarms, and some convenience features, but it is always up to the driver/rider to "honor the threat" and treat evry alarm as the real thing. and stay aware of their surroundings. The detectors will give you the "head's up" but it is your MK1 eyeball what will keep you out of trouble

Still, I lust after the V1's directional arrows and bogey counter.. But my Cobra gives me a nice multicolor display and a sweet auto mute/variable volume features that make it very attractive.

Even if they pay your first ticket for you, your points on the license, and possible increase in insurrance premiums remain, the reimbursement guarrantee in little more than a gimmick, plus it encourages people not to fight the ticket

cobras are crap save your money.. look at the testing at radarroy.com and guysoflidar.com cobras are so bad that they make other detectors go off. plus my bel rx65 as well as escorts 8500s (same company diffrent names) have a volt meter which just saved me from getting stranded. bike normaly charges at 15v and one day it droped to 14 now its at 11.9 i did the electric testing and i had to replace my stator for the fuking 2nd time.. but anyway if i didn't have it i wouldn't have known and who knows where i would be stuck at right now.

You can say that again. Good for Valentine, they pay for a $100 ticket... yay!! NOT. I could care less about the ticket, it's the insurance that kills. If they offered to pay for my increase in insurance I'd have one for every vehicle .
