Mine was because of someone else's stupidity and my noobness. 17 with an Elite (hey, gotta start somewhere). Was zipping along at a good clip. And a girl who knew me jumped out into the street to get my attention.
I was new and she was stupid. So I froze until the last couple seconds until I did what I had been taught so far: "When in doubt, lay it down". Burned a hole in my denim jacket from sliding on my back. Had to buy a new helmet too. Right side rashed to Hell from the slide.

Back in 93 ,Iwas brand new to sport bikes and i bought a cherry 92 F2. was invited to ride with 3 other WAY MORE experienced riders, (all on F2's) and they took me to a spot that had multiple switch-backs and back to back chicanes, all about 5 miles worth, and we rode it it like ten times in a row. then , they stopped and warned me that they were fixin to shred it and dont try to keep up, just hold steady lines and be smooth. well my noob-ness at the time told me i could keep up. I was wrong..... i was rite on their pace until we hit the last double S when they dissapeared and i found my self with no line to follow and i could not stop lookin at the big muddy ditch opposite of me, funny how a sport bike handles on wet grass. sweet Jesus him self picked the spot for me to go down, slid on wet grass into a soft mud filled ditch. it bent my rear brake lever and broke my wind screen. all of my fellow riders were a big help getting my bike out and to their garage were i learned how to take apart and clean my Honda. they still laugh at me on that one. i still smile when i hear"dont try and keep up"........PRIDE-absolutly!

1st day trying the bike out after rebuilding it. Had a bald front tire, and I didn't have any slack in the clutch cable. Dumped the bike trying to drive out of an inclined driveway from a dead stop. Like 6 people saw it, it was horribly embarrassing. Still can't fix the damage on that side cuz I can't find an inner fairing.

Got to say pride .
The first time I just layed it down , put the kickstand down , but only half way so it sprang back up . By the time I realised , it had bone beyond the point of no return , so I layed it down as gently as I could.
The thing is I was parking it right outside the bike shop in a crowded street and to make things worse a nice lady helped me pick it back up! Any pride I had was totally destroyed in that moment
Haven't thrown her down the road yet , not looking forward to it
