here is what you do...take it to court...even IF you lose at the district justice...take it downtown after that...chances are it'll be thrown out or dropped to little or nothing. You'll be alright...at least it wasn't something that got you an immediate suspension or worse.

Dude, the cops have heard every excuse in the book and know when someones lying to them. No offense, but if I was the cop, I would have replied "is that the best you could come up with?"

The best thing to do is be straight up with them. If you were in a hurry, just say so. If you weren't paying attention to the speed, I usually just tell them "sorry sir, I wasn't paying attention." and usually they'll let you slide with a warning. But the second you make excuses, that's when they just whip out the ticket.

It sucks, but you were speeding and he was doing his job, regardless if he was semi-rude or not.

*****...

Soccer, you can't even be mad at the cop. That was a lame *** excuse you had, and honestly, if I were a cop and somebody came at me with such an uncreative line of BS, I'd have wrote em a ticket on principle alone. The best thing you could have said was "Sorry sir, I got a little throttle happy on the open road." You MIGHT have had a chance to get a warning if you'd have been honest...or had a better excuse.

Your first mistake was driving 100 miles to see an ex.

As far as speeding fines, we've all been there..it is the cost of doing business. How many points is 19 over? In my town, they'd write you up for wreckless, not just speeding. I hope you get off light.
