My first two vehicles were motorcycles. I wanted one so bad I didn't care about a car. When the weather was bad I walked to work or rode the bus. I often regretted it at the time, particularly during the long winter season, but in retrospect I had some of the most fun of my life on those bikes back in my 20s.
Those memories are what prompted me to buy another at 41. I shouldn't have waited so long.

if you are in the U.S don't forget that when you buy a bike you have to get it registered which means tax, tabs if they aren't current, insurance, and don't forget to set some extra money above the bike for gear, very crucial
responsibility.
you need to have a car to get you where you have to go first. me for instance, i have a94 silverado with 300k miles, and my f4i. i wanted to dump all my tax check into my bike so i could have it all ready to go for riding season, but i needed new tires for the truck and for my wifes truck. i ended up getting most of the stuff i needed for the bike eventually but had to wait. i have to have my primary, everyday ride taken care of first.
if youve been trying to save for a bike and end up spending it every time, what is going to be different just because you're saving for a car now instead of a bike?
