The "Noob Drop"
Well that sucks, Liem... lol..
Buncha funny stories here, I guess I'll share one of mine, too.
I was on my brand new KLR a few weeks after I bought it. I stopped at a gas station, went to hop back on the bike and the toe of my shoe got caught on the "s" hook of a bungee cord I had strapped to the luggage rack.
BAM! Over on the right side....LOL..
Just imagine a dude dropping a bike while his shoe is attached to the ****in' luggage rack....

I wish I coulda been one of the other people in that parking lot, because I'm sure that chit looked hilarious.
Luckily, I had just installed crash bars a few days earlier. Not a scratch on her. Glad I decided to get 'em.

Funny stories!!!
Mine was in the alley behind my house. I was headed down; and the trash truck was headed up.............. Well, it looked like a smooth transition from cement to grass, and it was , grass to cement was another story. I'm getting pretty good with the 2 fingered clutch though. ;-)
If a fat guy drops his bike in the woods and no one sees do the trees still laugh?

Great Thread! This ones not going away anytime soon!
Like a cowboy trying to mount a fleeing horse, I kicked off the curb three times before I caught up to her! I was leaving the house of my good friend, (an avid rider with 20 years experience), and after having stalled it on a previous visit, was not going to let him see me do that again, especially with his eighteen year old girlfriend looking on! So I popped the clutch Too Fast that time... He pretended not to see it, but she Definitely did! Hurt my Ego, but not my bike! Never got introduced to any of her eighteen year old friends, though!

I guess it wouldn't hurt to bump this... lots of noobs and probably lots of people who haven't seen this thread to share their stories... I guess I'll share mine, in shame, LOL.
My first bike was a 2000 GSXR 600; I bought it in September and rode it all through the winter (SC winter's are usually pretty mild). I came across an AMAZING deal on an 03 F4i, excited to get on a newer bike and get onto a fuel injected machine, I put the GSXR up for sale.
I had a buyer within the first week. Guy was dead set on buying it (it was a gorgeous bike!) as his first bike, came with money in hand. I got there to meet the guy, parked the bike, he looked over it and was like, "Let's hear it."
I cranked the bike while holding clutch (from habit of driving manual cars) and didn't notice that it was in gear (PO bypassed the kickstand sensor, never had a problem before); I let go of the clutch to step away and let him hear the bike... as soon as I do, it launched itself off the kickstand and onto the gound.
I was broken-hearted, this was the first drop the bike had seen in my ownership. Nearly in tears, I picked it back up to see not a single scratch on the fairing! The engine cover was slightly rashed, but nothing a sharpie couldn't fix.
To my suprise, he handed me an envelope of money and asked for the title.

I'll bite if this thread has been revived.
3 noob drops on street bikes.
1) Bought my ninja 500, took it out to the baseball fields behind my house just to get used to it. Started across the grass at about 10mph, put my foot down to use the rear brake, missed, dug my steel toe into the grass about 2", footpeg slams into the back of my boot, takes bike down on top of me. Kill the bike, stand up, hear laughing. I guess a bunch of kids were watching me from the bleachers and found it very funny.
2) Rolled up to a stop sign facing up a hill, guess I forgot to put my foot down, started rolling backwards, grabbed the brake, went down. Couple scratches but no damage.
3) Took the ninja on my first semi long distance ride. Rode down through Sedona in the middle of summer, stuck in traffic for 2+ hours in 100 degree heat. Got through Sedona OK, took the highway through the Village Of Oak Creek to the interstate. Got to the on ramp, pulled over to retie my boot, put my foot down on gravel on a slope, went down. I blame this on dehydration. Bad choice, and I always ride with a camelback full of gatorade now. I laid there for 5 minutes with the bike on my leg laughing and unable to get up because of the gravel before some 16 year old girl who couldn't have weighed more than 80 pounds pulls her huge goldwing over and stands there puzzled for a minute before asking if I'm ok.

ive had a couple gravely/sandy parking lot near drops... usually catch them and barely get them up, or at least slow them down enough, touch the stator cover, then can get it back up.
my worst one was about 2 1/2 min into my first ever ride. when i bought the bike i still lived at my moms, me and my step dad were coming back from buying the bike and we have it in the back of his truck. we dont have a ramp so i take it down to the park to push it back onto a hill, and roll it down. i wanted to drive it home (which was about 2 min away) so i pull into the neighbor hood. theres a little ice on the edges of hte road and in front of my moms drive way so im looking at it trying to make sure i get a straight shot into the drive way. well im trying to slow down and the bike keeps lunging forward and wont go below 7-8 mph so im thinking what is going on, try to still pull it into the drive way but at an angle front tire slides a little just as another lunge is coming. shoot me into the neighbors yard and i just fall over almost sitting still haha. thats what happens when you break and dont use the clutch, lol. not to mention my parents are following me in the truck so they watch it all from about 20 feet behind. no damage or anything luckily, i was in grass that was semi wet but def embarassing

I had a noob drop today.. backing up on a slight incline to clear my mom's corolla, foot slips, down she goes. all I got was a bent brake lever, so instead of a straight lever it's more of a J lever. It's actually easier to grab and pull now so it's all good haha.
