that's why I decided against the tracking system offered for individuals. If I remember... it was close to $400 for one setup, so it'd over a grand for all 3 of my rides.

GPS doesn't work through walls very well. Here's the link to their site.
The LoJack system works through concrete walls, ceilings, and other barriers (such as underground parking garages) to locate LoJack-equipped vehicles. Other services use a satellite system, which requires an unobstructed line-of-sight between the vehicle's satellite antenna and orbiting GPS satellites.

I read into the lo-jack... it does have a back up to GPS... mobile phone towers if I remember correctly. You still run the risk of having the system not getting a signal... lo-jack is better than the GPS tracking systems I looked into, but like I said... not offered in my area.

I am currently looking into Digital Guardian's Unit after a bad experience with an Inilex Device. Lojack is offered in my area, but you can get to somewhere that it isn't within 50 minutes. Way too soon in my opinion. Let me know what you guys think of it:

Nice, i had the same idea in placing a camera pointing at the bike with a motion sensor trigger. Where did you find such a thing for $40. Here are the two I was looking at; one is wired, the other wireless. I beileve both have email alert capabilities too so you can be alerted anytime the motion sensor is triggered. You can probably use your text message email address for your cell phone unless you have a blackberry or similar.
