New rider question.....
Never ridden a bike??[:'(] are you saying never ???[:@] and he went out and bought a 06 f-4i ????[sm=badidea.gif] wow you better start him out on the smallest bike that will move him, like a "honda 50", this guy has the worst case of "NEWBIE" I've read on this forum, trying hard not to dis him, but he could have started smaller and alot safer [sm=signs003.gif]
yeah, thats kind of what i was thinking CW. first time i read it, friend who never rode just bought an 06 F4i. Ill tell you what, he can ride my bike and ill ride his.[sm=bounceybounce.gif]
My advice if it's possible for you to obtain a small cc dirtbike one with a manual tranni, then get him on that in a field and let him practice then on the road then on his F4I. Or even start on a four wheeler to get the mechanics of it down then to move onto his bike, only difference is the balance but with speed you get balance.
well i have only been riding for two weeks (yes im a real n00b) but here me out; go bring him into a parking lot. The first 5 mins i rode my bike, it was like hell for me. i was bad with the gas and clutch, and stoping and so forth. my friend brought me to a parking lot and we did a lot of slow speed manevours...we did circles, figure 8's and so forth til i felt a bit more comfortable. believe me it helped me out a lot because now im learning how to ease the throttle and clutch, and apparently a lot of dumps are slow speed no?
after we did this for 30 mins we went out on the road and took it a bit easy so i could get use to how the bike is and so forth...my friend would watch me to see what i should correct...he told me and i tried what he explained...i did fine and so forth...
the next time we went riding (two days later) we went to the parking lot first just to reassure myself of what i know and should know...that day we drove about 40 miles altogether and i am getting better...
tomorrow we are going out again for my third ride...
just have him take it easy and make sure he doesnt get nervous and doesnt try to impress anyone...
maybe because i am probably older and respect the bike; i take it easy? or maybe because i am finally "allowed" to own one...Thanks Mom!!!

i don't agree with you guys at all about starting on a smaller bike. I think that the 600cc is perfect. Who wants to get a bike, ride it for like 4 months, and then get rid of it because its too small now and you want more power. Just don't twist the throttle that hard. One of my friends said he's getting a bike and said he's gonna get the kawasaki 250, i told him don't do it and he's going to regret it, which is true. One thing i do have a problem with is that he bought a brand new bike. Its gonna hurt if the bike goes down, hence why my first bike was/is 01 f4i that is pretty scratched up
