Default How do you turn off your bike???

My first bike about 4 years ago was a 1982 Suzuki GS650G that was old, black and gold, and reeked of the electric slide. When I bought it the starter button was broke off and I was able to take the key out of the ignition while keeping it on. So i would take out the key, use it to short the button and it would start, then but the key back in my pocket so I wouldnt lose it. Now in order to turn it off I would just hit the kill switch and grab the key to turn the bike to off. After getting rid of the ol - `yuki, I`ve allways used the kill swith to turn off the bike and everyone I know gives me crap about not using the key. I`m just wondering if I`m not the olny one out there thats does the same.

i've always used the key. just something about the word "kill switch" doesn't sound appealing to use on something i love.

+1 I use the kickstand also, then put the kill switch in the off position.

Kill switch or the stand if there's a possibility it may roll a little.

I got in the habit of using the kill switch in my MSF course. They kept drilling the "thumb key valve" stuff into our head. Now its just habit.

Same with me. I still grab the front brake when I'm getting on because of MSF, though I'm glad its a habit because I'm frequently parking on a hill.

when i use to use the kill switch i would sometimes forget to take out the key and one time drained my battery.
So for me I make it a habbit to turn of with key.
and sometimes its ok to get lazy and use the kick stand.
