Havent crashed or laid down a bike yet, however, I've been in two car wrecks recently, 3 in all (one NOT my fault, can we EVER express our hatred for truckers? but that's a long story) but one today, cant really call any of them wrecks, more like fender....modifiers. All the damage has been done to my car (cement trucks are hard to scratch)(also, geo storms are low to ground so when i brake i go under, gives me a warm fuzzy inside) not to others (maybe a scrath, not legit damage) but it makes me almost fearfully watchful when I ride my bike, i dont ride my bike half as stupid as i drive my car or I would already be dead.

Good to know you're in good shape jules, and that the bike is rideable. 17 years of riding, how old does that make you???

Definitely glad you're doing alright. Also glad to hear the about the full gear. It seems like nothing beats full gear. I feel so safe riding around in my suit. Imagine the condition you would be in if you had not have worn your gear. I laid my bike down twice so welcome to the club haha. Hope you feel a lot better soon, Jules.

Thank you again for all the lovely messages :-) ... I really am ok though now, very stiff this morning and sore but all par the course for being bounced on tarmac ..lol ..I have taken Ibuprofen and co-codamol together, that always works well .. my right hip is sore and has a wapping great bruise on it and my left knee took some impact from the side swipe to the car ... I have been lucky though and feel quite happy this morning for some reason :-)

+100000 on having your full leathers on, you are a great example to the other "skin crayons" that ride our roads in a t-shirt and shorts, or your injuries would have been much worse.
Its very rare for me to just put on my leather jacket and jeans, usually only when its baking hot outside ..not often ..lol ..our warm summer weather lends itself better to full leathers without getting too hot ... if I hadnt worn them yesterday my legs would have been cut to ribbons without a doubt, I slid for quite a way down the road.. I think it might have been quite serious actually ..anyway I have enough old scars on them to last a lifetime ..lol

Thank you :-) ... I was 16 when I started riding ..yes I am an old bird of 33 ..lol ... I probably should be trading it in for a ZimmerRR rather than a 600RR ..lol

Theres no doubt in my mind my legs would have been shredded even with my jeans on if I hadnt worn the suit .. instead its just bad bruising which will heal without trace :-)

oh noez...crunched camera and bike...and a roughed up kitteh.
You know its kinda funny .. I was thinking about this ... I loved my camera and I loved my bike and they are both trashed, my two main things I do or like to do in life ... I am roughed up here quite a bit too but for some reason this morning despite pains I feel great :-) ..the sun is shinning here and I love the mornings down by the canal ..the air is just so fresh and pure and I will hobble down to the lock in a wee while and get some sun in my face :-) ... really guys its fine, all fine!!

I got to ride my bike again yesterday and not long ago they told me I wouldnt ride again!! ...I win!! :-)

I will get some pics up of the damage later to show you all ..I think its just cosmetic ..yeay!! :-)

Jules

Only cosmetic damage? ... That's great Jules!! How fast do you think that you were going when you hit? I'm glad you were being a sensible kitteh and wearing your gear.

"Jolly good show!!!" on riding the bike again. I assure you that next time promises to be better.

Glad you are o.k. From experience I can tell you the soreness kicks in big time about the 2nd day ... especially the neck and any joints that got knocked around.

If you want you can take a couple days off as 'welcome kitten' ... but back to work on Monday!!

Get some rest ... hope you feel better soon.

Oh, SpiritRR ... you're gonna blow your 'gay athiest' cover if you keep up the slim, blonde, leather references

sorry to hear you took a dive, but I'm glad you are ok.

just remember next time these things counter steer ;-)

get better soon!
Do you know something?? ..I actually did ..lol ..I was headed right for the centre of the back of the car ..I counter steered and managed to hit the back of the rear quarter turning it into a glancing blow which I think saved the bike ... if I had hit central I would have bent the forks and probably the frame, game over!! ..as it is and from looking today at the bike its just shatterd plastics!! :-)
