Military Tax form??
Hey guys... this is probably more for the military guys. I havent been in too long, just a year now, so still learning alot. but my question was what is this "in lieu of tax form thing" I guess it covers your title and registration? Do you have to have it before you purchase your bike? And would you know were to get it? Not sure if different branches are different, but if it helps im in the Air Force. Thanks

RE: Military Tax form??
orderly room? hmm in the army the orderly room is where you watch tv. been in the army for 11 yrs, never seen a "military" tax form. always used my LES. every year i take my LES to get my taxes done and i use it at the registration office for tag renewal. depends on the state what they require for plates.

Give me a little more detail on what the form is supposed to do. I didn't use enything like that to purchase my bike.
I just went through USAA for my financing.
BTW, are you a new rider?
Let your Flight /CC know, and call the base safety office. (they offer the MSF course for free)
You'll need the course to be allowed to ride (on base)
If you're talking about the tax exemption for when you buy your bike while deployed; It works through AAFES car sales, and they only carry HD/Buell

Never heard of this either. I file my Taxes with a W-2. Only ever needed an LES for proof of income and employment. In the many states I have lived in, when regestering a car/bike/truck or boat, I needed the title, regestration, insurance, drivers license and maybe once or twice a military ID. What is this form supposed to do?

Not sure about what state your in, but Oklahoma's DMV provides a break for those that serve. They call it a military affidavit and it basically lowers you registration down to $23. I've heard that california has something similar, but all of my vehicles are registered in Oklahoma. Guess it depends on what state your in. The DMV would probably be the best place to start.
I just pull the form off of of the OK state DMV website. Some orderly rooms will carry them too.
