New rider and owner of a 03 CBR F4I.

Just got it and I love it. Its got some cosmetics that needs to be fixed and some maintenance, but overall a really sound bike. Came with Yoshi pipe.

I just replaced the brake pads with EBC brakes. I just got a K&N oil filter and Honda Synthetic oil. Gonna start to work on some maintenance this weekend.

Hey there Grumps, congrats on the new bike. Looks like the previous owner did some very innovative repairs on it. It's all good though, I like the road warrior look, lol. It shoulsn't take much to fix her up. There's tons of F4i owners here so feel free to dive right in...

Thanks fellas. I do have a few questions:

-Replacing the air filter:

Obviously I have to remove the fuel tank, but how difficult is it?

-Coolant flush:

What type can I use? Is automotive ethylene glycol okay to use? Or are the stealerships correct, I have to use motorcylce specific coolant?

Thanks again guys!!!

Thanks.... Ive been riding for about a month both city/hwy.

I have rode my cousin's little 250cc dirt bike, but on the road it is totally different.

I am currently enrolled in the Motrcycle Safety Course provided by Ride Rite. I start tomorrow!!!! :woot:

I am not new to forums. I belong to a few Mustang Forums. My other ride is a 03 Mustang Mach 1.

Hello & welcome grumps!
Plenty of F4i riders here so post yer questions in the F4i forum, we'll help ya out.
But getting to your 2 questions:
Air filter is not too hard to get to, but I recommend someone to help you move the fuel tank out of the way. Then it's just a matter of removing air box cover.
Coolant is regualr ethylene glycol used in cars..motorcycle specific coolant not needed.
Hope this helps out and ride safe!
