As a minority myself here I can see how and why some people can and does see it as being a race thing.

I think if he was white he might just of gotten jail time and hush hush and nfl probation etc but it would of all been over and done,maybe.

What really pisses me off is how stupid some people are. Take Vik for example, making millions and he goes and does something that low class trash crap.
I think he deserved everything he's gotten so far and more.

As someone who owns pits (2) and am a dog lover in general I think they should throw the book at him. or better yet throw him in the ring with those pits and tell him you trained them you stop them. He is one of the lowest forms of scum on earth and should be beat with a stick and rot in hell. And its not cause he is black or rich or any of that because he is a dumbass

 

Well, im not here to say Vic is wrong or right. I will say however that its okay for bulls to be stabbed in the neck in Spain during bullfights? its okay to raise dogs in Korea just to slaughter them for food? but its wrong to let pitbulls do what their instincts are. Lets face it when you get a pitbull puppy, if you dont train it to be friendly from the start its natural instincts are going to kick in. The natural instincts being to fight and kill, no its not right to intentionally put 2 pitbulls in a ring and have them go at each other till the other is dead or unable to keep going. Correct me if im wrong, some states were banning the possesion of pitbulls and putting them down. They didnt decide to pass this act just cause they figured these dogs were "friendly" dogs, they put them down because of the "nature of the beast." Pitbull fighting is not this "new sport" its been going on for years, but one person famous gets caught for it now its such a big issue! How bout start at the lower level also and stop the fighting with the average everyday person. Its funny cause dog fighting is not a big deal, but now that you have a black famous football player getting caught.... uh oh all of a sudden itsa big deal!!! Everybody on this forum wouldnt have thought twice in their mind about dog fighting, now that there is this big case its a big deal. I cant be mad at Mike Vic if he gets this big fine, a little bit of jail time, and temporary suspinsion from the nfl, sorry to disappoint you but money is everything. Money is the root of all evil and if you have enough....well your going to slip threw the cracks!

 

Kewl...I think what you meant to say was that this is money issue, not a race issue. Most black people aren't able to spend $130 million on anything so being black doesn't make him rich. Now if he was Saudi or from Kuwait, then yes, he would maybe have millions in oil money and then we can call it a race thing.

Trust me, the U.S. government wants every persons money whether you are black or white or somewhere inbetween.

second, your belief that a pitbull is naturally aggressive is ALSO wrong...on a dog bite list, golden retrievers are the #1 biters in the US....now i know their popularity plays into those numbers, but point being, pitbulls are not inherently dangerous....the reason you hear so much about them is that they haven been 'chosen' by the crap of the world to fight....before it was dobermans when i was growing up...then german shepherds....now its pits....the lockjaw assumption people make, also a fallicy....do some research before you spill dribble like that and attempt to state a mere opinion based on conjecture and no proof as fact....

third, laws attempting to ban pitbulls wasn't because of the pitbulls themselves, they were due to people using them for dogfighting....had shepherds or dobermans or boxers been used for this, they would have attempted to ban them...on top of that...many states are refusing to enact BSL (breed specification legislation) because it is pointless....it is the people that create these vicious dogs....granted some dogs from any breed will be just mean but to believe that pits are from the start is an ignorant comment....until the PEOPLE are punished for this it will continue to happen....look at the statistics of pitbull attacks....you will notice a common thread....where they were from, what they were used for....these aren't your pitbulls in the burbs who have a good life....there is a reason BEYOND being a pitbull

 

fish, you're right, money is never too far behind. i don't feel sorry for him and he was never my idol though he is was an excellent athlete but I wasn't implying the gov was after him because of his race .. but either way ff made some valid points so I'll let it go.

btw, statement made by NAACP today in the news .. getting involved in this case is pretty dumb on their part IMO

Maybe there are similarities I don't see, I mean, does the dog provide meals for those involved? Does killing the dogs help control thepopulation? Do they kill the dogs in a quick manner to try and avoid suffering? Just not seeing it, maybe there is something I'm missing.
