Life is a b*tch this is what the deal is....(rant)
As far as the wife killing you it will suck at first. Not going to lie my wife was horribly upset when i left. More for her than you because you will be much more busy. But once you two are back together after basic it will be nothing but a better life. It’s a hard 2 months during basic but 2 months of being apart is a small price to pay for a full life time of opportunities.
If you decided to talk it over with your wife just keep reinforcing the fact that after you get back from basic you won’t have to worry so much about bills, medical, and education. You will ALWAYS have It really does lead to a better life and your just doing everything you can to provide for your family. At the end of your enlistment if you and the wife don’t like it then you can get out and have a much higher chance at getting a good civilian job. If you do talk to a recruiter and have any questions about what he says feel free to PM me. I know my recruiter wasnt fully honest to me about a few things but nothing major. haha

And if the Chairforce i mean Air force won't take you the Army always will.
There are alot of benifites to the military. The only real draw back is deployments and where they say you have to live. Not as in house wise but location wise.

+1 on the chairforce. haha i hate not being outside. lol
Never give up man and chit if he pulled a blade on you and you still whipped him good
all the better ........too bad ya got rapped on it........but **** happens and it's not the
end of the world. Military is good if you need a rock solid base to go from and your
Lady and baby can handle you being busy away for a bit. Go for it man and best
of luck to you, you can do it you know you can.
Excellent advice rendered just below by JHouse ............he's on the money.

It's the big employers with the personnel departments that check criminal records and such. Plus criminal records are only local to a particular state.
So look for a job with a small company. Professionals are always impressed with well groomed, eager, responsible and hard working guys.
What are your hobbies? Are you handy? Do you have skills?
There are a lot of jobs out there that few people know about. Videographers for depositions. Maintenance men for Apartment projects. Runners and back office clerks at law firms. I know a guy who started to work at a McDonalds and became so important to the owner, he let him earn a piece of a franchise. He now owns 17 stores. Get a blown insulation machine and get a web site and start blowing attics for people who want to save on their energy bills. Figure out how to start your own trade. I went to grad school with three guys who threw in together to become house painters. They did just fine. With the net, it is now much easier to get your name out there. Most contractors are either irresponsible and unreliable or really expensive. A lot of trades are pretty quick to learn. If you work for yourself, you won't ever get researched for your past. All that is just off the top of my head. Do some thinking and research. Get in on the ground floor of a small company that does something that is needed regardless of the economy. Plumber. A/C repair. Garage Door Repair. Locksmith. Lawn guys. Sprinkler repair. There's a million things.

The Army will take anyone, hence the reason they raised the enlistment age, and go figure loosened the restrictions for weight and bodyfat. So I guess if your a fat old man the Army is a good choice.
