Used to block them out, now I really don't care. If they steal my ride, that's what insurance is for. Not to mention, this house is protected by semi-automatic weapons with everyone in the household being a marksman. So yeah, I would love to see them try.

Why is it that people are worried about showing thier license plates in photographs? You always see them blacked out or blurred... but I don't know why.

Can you tell me some possible scenarios of what could happen? Any real-life stories? Just curious...

Identity theft, and just staying relatively anonymous on the internet.

You never know who is out there.

Best answer I have seen. Most of the people that we come into contact with in our everyday lives are somewhat reasonable and sane. That does not mean that everyone in this world is. There are plenty of unreasonable and irrational people. Not to mention criminals.

License plate blurring is to prevent thieves or internet psychosmore than the Government. Whichas a government hating fool I want the gove with the least amount of info on me as possible but I know I can only do so much.

Many blur it out while doing street racing, stunts, etc on public roads out of fear the local police will scan the 10billion forums looking for you. Which the reality is the police can't really do anything with your license plate unless you have a clear plate and your face is clear in a continuous stretch of footage that doesn't change frames. If that's the case then you're racing/stunting without a helmet and you deserve to get your butt whooped.
