Default License Plates

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone has a CBR 1000rr with the license plates attached under the airbox just above the rear tire. I've seen somebikes out there with the plateattached to what appears like the air box. Does anyone know what the name of the company who makes the attchment kit?? I installed a integrated rear turn signal light and got rid of the fender, however, the license plates where attached.

its the battery box and its illegal technically. It will cause cops to hound you about it and even ticket you for it.

Yes it is illegal, depending on local police. Also very dependant on the officer's "mood" at the time.

The hot bodies kit is a lot of work, actually have to cut the rivits under the sub frame I beleive. Unknown where their tag mounts
The bikelitez kit replaces the back piece and has either mounting of tag under the battery tray or more towards the back(more cop friendly)

It is only illegal if the officer cannot read your license plate number while you are riding... or when your suspension is compressed. The CW kit has a spring and when it hits the hugger it roll's up a bit. However it all depends if when the weight is on your bike if the tire covers the numbers. This is the standard in Texas anyway.
