i forgot to tell you about that, if you tell the doc that you are an overly sensetive eye person he can give you a "chill" pill. i dont know what, be it xzanex or valume, but i found that out after my proceedure, i was a wreck the day of surgery, i would have loved a pill or three, but it did go fast and keep your eye on the prize and you will do fine.ive had gas with the dentist and would not recomend it as you want total control of being perfectly still, your success absolutly depends on it!

I would seriously consider PRK over Lasik, IMO. Right now, the Navy will give free PRK to any serviceman requesting it, and is the only procedure they will allow if you then wish to become flight certified. The currently do the surgery on about 1/3 of their recruits.

It sounds like although the recovery time for the procedure is longer, there is a greatly reduced incidence of side effects (flap separation, night halos, etc.) than with Lasik. However, it's always a good idea to discuss options with a doctor (who you trust) about what your best option will be.

I had lasik done and I'm happy with the results. It wasn't painful, but you feel pressure on your eye when they do the surgery. The trick to having a successful surgery is to, obviously, get a good doctor. My doctor was on TV and he had A LOT of experience. It helps to pay a little more. Don't go for those weird discount things where they have "pay for one eye and get the other one free" or anything like that. Those are the newcomer doctors to eye surgery. Spend the money to get an experienced doctor. It'll probably cost over $1k per eye, but it is well worth it. Recovery was fast. You go to sleep right after the surgery and you sleep for like at least 5 hours and then you wake up and you can see. I was seeing at 20/10 vision. I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones. Now, I'm probably around the 20/10 or 20/20. I'd recommend doing it. Don't listen to anybody shouting out "DON'T DO IT!" They don't have the facts. Do your research and decide on your own.

My eyesight was horrible. I couldn't see anything without my contacts or glasses. I don't know what my vision was, but for contacts it was like -5.25?
