If it is legal go for it just be careful. I use to do it all the time when I lived in California. Most people moved over to give me more room.

I don't split lanes because
  1. It's not legal in PA
  2. I live in a state full of d-bags

That's what happened first and last time I tried it. Welll... almost last time. I used the bike lane again today

Your not a dick dude trust me Im a dick I do it anytime theres traffic I cant help it, you get such a rush from it right? Hearing your exhaust echo off the cars/trucks, hearing, whoosh whoosh, when you are just blowing pass em... just gotta be smart about it and focus, hard

Last time was a few weeks ago, grid lock beach traffic I 95 North towards RI.
And yea a PA plate cager and NJ kinda merged toward the middle, at the same time

easing past in gridlock traffic etc wouldnt bug me. But D-bags blasting by at speed are just plain stupid n dangerous.

Butbutbut... It's not blasting by at speed if you roll past on a stoppie, finishing with a burnout on their hood

I think it's forced guilt. The ugly stares some of the people give (or incompetent attempts at assault) works a little on the conscience. I mean seriously who doesn't feel a little twinge of satisfaction when they reach the front of the line?

never done this. how much of a hassle would the local police give you?

i live in western nc.. i guess i should check the laws

**EDIT**

I looked it up on the DMV website

Its stated as is. "Lane Splitting: Not referenced in Administrative Codes or Statutes".

Does this mean its legal, not legal or a toss up?
