im not sure if this matters, but i went through a broker to get to them....so im not sure if there are different rates, if any difference...i might be getting pwned through the broker too.

Some dealers offer some type of theft. I had the same issue with high premiums, although around $4k/year. My
state farm agent ( whom I have life and house coverage with) told me I had to have car (I don't own a car) insurance
for them to cover the bike. Posts above, suggest that he was full of it, so perhaps each agent does their own thing on
the motorcycle issue ?

Here in Virginia, I have to have liability and uninsured coverage. I opted for "PowerGuard" insurance from a dealer, which gives
me $5k if the bike is stolen, it cost $500 and I have theft coverage for 3 years. This is also transferable should
I want to sell the bike within 3 years. Not sure if this was a good deal - perhaps not, but it was cheaper than
the brokers had offered. Good luck, keep shopping around.
