Insurance HELP ME!
Hey guys, well... I just bought a 2006 CBR1000RR, it has 3400 miles, never been dropped and I paid $7500 for it.
I'm going to pick it up today. I was wondering how much you guys pay for insurance and who you guys use as your insurer. Full coverage looks insane on this bike! Geico quoted me $7000 a year!!![:@]

Well, that seems a little absurd....unless you have a bad driving/riding record.
Check out this thread...lot's of talk about insurance in there...

I turn 21 in 3 months and only have one ticket from when I was 18. I was doing less than 15 over, like a 67 in a 55 or something. I was devistated at that quote from Geico, ridiculous. Thanks for the link!
Yeah, I know litre bikes don't get very good rep with the insurance folks, it was a really good deal though and just right down the road. I started off looking for a 600RR but happened upon the 1000.
Geico quoted me on my 06 1KRR something insane like that, so went with progressive, was 1300 a year, full coverage, I'm 31 zero claims, tickets or accidents. Called State Farm after reading about them so much on here, they quoted me at 435.00 a year, with better coverage and lower deductables. Guess who I use now..............

This is exactly why I switched. My rate for the bike was 1/2 of Progressive with more coverage and lower deductibles. Don't get me wrong, Progressive is a good company. They take care of you after an accident so fast it'll make your head spin, but I just can't afford their rates right now.
