Default RE: Inauguration 2009

granted I think the ceremony is overdone but I too was kinda proud to see all the people united. it'd do this place some good to stand behind their president(not blindly of course, especially if he goes crazy or something lol) but on the other hand I do consider it to be a big deal. say what you will about how it shouldn't be a big deal but in reality it is...think about it, he just represents a major shift in our ideals from the past in a good way...many people alive today couldn't go to certain schools, sit on certain seats on the bus or drink out of a certain water fountain. his being elected just represents we're a lot better off than we were. he's not so much a saint but I applaud the u.s. for getting away from its ****head racist past that much more

i'm with shocktroop...it would be stupid to wish failure, I hope he does great as I did for bush even tho he was never my choice in either 2000 or 2004...whatever the outcome of an election, one should hope for the best and not hope for a dem/rep failure to help support some agenda so ****ty as "I told you so" 4 years later...not worth it.
