Anyone do any kind of workout or diet routine? I already play varsity football everyday for school. I also have been getting into this diet. One of my teachers (he's like 26 and had a basketball career in college) got me on this thing called the Primal Diet, which is basically cutting out foods not found in nature. Like i just ate a half of a medium size box of strawberries for a quick night time snack.
So Im just askin', do any of you have any health things you do?

I just ate two pop tarts! Chocolate fudge ones. I think they're on the primal raw diet. They grow on trees... or maybe it's bushes? I dunno... I haven't been outside in years.

But seriously Pontiac... there are many people here who have routines and diets. In fact, there are several threads about working out, dieting, etc. A search for "diet" brought up some interesting results.

Pick up the ABS Diet by David Zinczenko

Amazon.com: The Abs Diet: The Six-Week Plan to Flatten Your Stomach and Keep You Lean for Life (9781579549985): David Zinczenko, Ted Spiker: Books

This will give you the foundations you need for a healthier lifestyle.

The Diet is top notch, you'll actually eat more food than you do now, and the workout routine is great for burning fat and adding muscle. Even if you're an experienced lifter trying the routine out for 6 weeks is a nice refresher.

most time, I am eating healthy food. I don't really like what's in the middle of super market. But ever since I broke up with my last bf, I just hate to cook just for me. So I am living on fruits, nuts, vegetables. Not much carbs. That helps me to get cut little more.

question you have to ask yourself is, what exactly do you want to achieve?
be healthy?
be fit and strong?
look ripped?

each one of these has its own diet, you say you play sport everyday, so you burning alot of carbs, which need replacing, if your not doing this you will soon feel weak, get cramps.
eating strawberry before bed is not the greatest either, you need casein protein, so that will be cottage cheese or a slow release whey, both of these nature provides.
also before bed a ripe banana, as it gives off melatonin, which helps you grow.

mail me if you need any help
or....google..... landmfitness uk

Well thanks guys. I'm not looking to get ripped (it would be nice though), Im just trying to get more fit and healthier. I dont only eat strawberries, just lots of fruits and veggies. my diet basically take conservatives out. I'm an offensive lineman and we usually have to bulk up but I want to just be a fit lineman (I'm 6' 5'' and 267 right now). we lift on mondays and wednesdays and have practive for 3 hours after school everyday (fridays are gamedays); so I just wondering if you have any everyday activities you do.
Thanks for all of the advice

Well I really don't agree with this statement. Healthy is Fit and Strong, and a person who is fit and strong usually has a decent bit of muscle mass and a lower body fat percentage. Hence the ripped.

Granted unless you're talking a intense cutting diet, but healthy, fit and strong and ripped all go hand in hand.

A lot of people seem to think you can only either build muscle or burn fat. So therefore you need to be eating 5,000 dirty calories a day, or trying to lean out and eating 1,800.

You CAN and WILL build muscle and burn body fat on a solid work out regimen with the proper diet. I mean just imagine an average joe who's never seen the gym before then starts lifting. he will gain muscle mass and start shedding those pizza and nachos LBs right away.

Anyways Pontiac - you're in highschool? Sounds like you're gonna be a big boy! the earlier you get your diet(think of this as what you eat not a weight loss "diet") and workout routine down the better off you'll be.
I'd really suggest picking up that book. Its written by the chief editor of Men's Health magazine. Lots of great stuff in there - a good deal of it just explaining how the body works and why and how we need to fuel it.

For lifting you have multiple options. You could do total body workouts that focus on the core compound exercises. Such as dead lifts, squats, bench press. Or you could do more traditional days. Focusing on 1 large group a day, lifting 4-5 times per week. Or lots of other options.

well we have upper and lower day where we focus on each area. and yeah, i'm a senior, and just got my 92 cbr f2 almost 2 weeks ago this thursday. its a blast. i cut most of the junk and fast food out (never really liked mcdonalds anyways) but our coach takes the starting line to this pizza place about once a week and the 7 of us kill about 8 pizzas . But most of the time I try to stick to my diet as much as possible.
