Trust in your tires has a lot to do with making the corner smooth, clean and stable. Rider's nervous about their tires will usually be twitchy through the corner and will be focused more on "will the tires hold" rather than maintaining their line and making a clean and stable exit.

Though I will say, you will be amazed with how aggressive of a lean angle you can get, even without knowing it. The picture below is from the Superbike School I took at Laguna Seca. It was during a tire warm up lap and I had no idea I was right on the edge of the tires. Add a little body positioning to hang off the bike, and the knee would have been down no problem. But I'll say it again, trust and confidence in your machine goes a long way. But that's easy to say when you are on a track, not so easy on public roads.
