Default Dragged knee for the first time...in jeans. Lets see how they held up.

Well, I got my first bike (04 F4i) back at the end of May and I dragged knee for the first time today, unintentionally. I went around the same on-ramp that I practice over and over again but this time I just leaned off the bike a little more and all of a sudden I dragged my knee on the ground. I was happy with a big smile on my face despite the hole right through my kevlar jeans. My knee only hit the ground for a second or so and it put a hole RIGHT through it.

Luckily, I was smart enough to be wearing my Icon Leg Armor and it just rubbed my knee pads underneath my jeans and made a mark on those. I have decided its time to upgrade the pants if Im going to be riding like this because my jeans didnt hold up at all. I had heard they didnt hold up too well but I didnt think they would be this bad. lol I figuredId make a post to show fellow riders just how they held up or lack their off. While I realize they aren meant to drag knee by any means if a hole can be put through it in a second or so doing this think of how they would look if you went sliding down the freeway. Thats the main reason Im posting this.

Heres what I was wearing under my jeans which were Teknic Warrior jeans with Kevlar in the butt and knees.
Icon Field Armor shorts, leg armor, and Frank Thomas SP Tech boots.

The reason the hole looks like its in an odd place compared to my knee is because when I ride in a straight line/stop-go the jeans tend to ride up on me and the bottom of them is more like at the top of my boots.

Anyway, like most other people say...wear your gear! Had I not had my knee pads on I think that would have hurt my knee for sure.

Well, it's a long circle off-ramp and you can see most of the wayaround it with no gravel so I can't see it being too dangerous other than possible oil or something. I can usually see if something is in the road with enough time to correct myself butyou're right, younever know.I knowI'm taking a chance but that's why I wear the gear too.

Nice! That just goes to show you that jeans can't hold up at all.
