While its a noble idea for our leaders to have a hands on experience in actual combat in order for them to bark the orders, its also unrealistic. Sure, we have leaders whohave been in combatbefore (ie: McCain and Kerry just to name a few) but its not for everyone. Those who serve volunteered to do so (except if you got drafted back then) and not a whole lot of them end up in politics anyway. Unfortunately Ivy league graduates and a generation of trust fund babies are the ones that really runs this great country of ours. They are theones who will probably never step foot on a combat zone and know how it feels to live in the harshest environment and take the fight to the enemy. The ones who do these are usually the lower and middle class citizen (and sometimes not a citizen) are the ones that do the real fighting. I guess thats what it is to have a hierchy of society. Im glad that I've done my part, itsthe least I can do for allowing my family andI the opportunity to have a better life than the ones we had in mynative country.

Haha...I bought this movie quite a few years back. I remember buying it for $5 at walmart. Still have it with the rest of my DVD collection. I think I am going to watch it now.[&:]

LeonF4i, what you have said is true, but it'd be nice now and again, for the people who decide when we go to war, to have to live through the reality of combat. We'd have far less wars, as time passed.
Ivy league babies ? Pffffft - give 'em a uniform.............

Agreed... especially for congress since they have the power to decide to go to war or not and the president who can influence the decision.
