New F4i owner at Hill AFB, UT.
Last time I owned orwas on a "real" motorcycle was in '02, when I watched a friend I was riding withhit and killed by an SUV that lost control. I've finally found peace with it and bought a 150cc Chinese scooter this past June for commuting to work. Well, while I'm getting 78- 85 MPG and am able to do 60, it just isn't enough, so Ifinally bit the bullet and bout a silver/ black '01 F4i with 16K miles. It was a toss up between it and an '02 VFR 800,as I've wanted both of these bikes since they came out, but the F4i didn't feel as ponderous as the Interceptor, and was quite a bit easier to ride.
So the bike I got is a little rough, but I wasn't looking for a pretty boy bike. It has a Micron carbon slip on, but needs new tires because the guy chicken striped the thing, and it needs a speed sensor, so I guess I'm going to have to pull the tank or hope my hands are small enough, but other than that, it's a pretty decent find for $3K. I'm picking it up on Tuesday and will post some pictures if anyone wants to see what a mostly stock black/ silver f4i looks like.
Selling the scooter crossed my mind, but an air cooled, carbed engine is a lot cheaper to maintain, not to mention <$45 tires, so I'll be commuting on that. While I'm not new to bikes, it has been a while, and I am new to the CBR line (previous bikes were a '98 Ninja 250 and '86 VF500R), so I apologise in advance for stupid questions. I'll use the search function as much as possible, but go easy on me if I miss something that's already been covered.
I look forward from learning from you guys and gals and hope I'm not too much of a pain in the ***.

as far as traffic goes, people around here are retarded... they'll either do 64.9 MPH in the left lane, or they'll do 90 in the right and not let you merge...

I feel your pain. UT is absurd. I'll keep an eye out for you, but if you're in Logan, or wherever, I'm down in Utah county. Stay safe and welcome!
